Momo
tibetan: མོག་མོག་
Momos are a traditional Tibetan festive meal made from homemade, stuffed pastry bags cooked over steam.
There are usually two types of Momo, steamed and fried.
All our doughs are homemade and consist of 2/3 whole grains and 1/3 wheat wheaten flour
The Momos can be served with different fillings:
Sha Momo –with beef and herbs filling
Chure Momo –with cheese and spinach filling (the favorite of the guests)
Schogo Momo – with potato and herb filling
Tse Momo –with vegetable filling
Traditionally, momos filled with yak meat are served in Tibet.
After being steamed, they are eaten with soy sauce and chili.
For the soup lovers Momos is also prepared in soup form.
